Functional safety

Functional Safety is engineering discipline. The main target is detection of a potentially dangerous condition resulting in the activation of a protective or corrective device or mechanism to prevent hazardous events arising or providing mitigation to reduce the consequence of the hazardous event. In accordance to Functional Safety philosophy – electronic safety systems has to be designed, installed and maintained with the focus to reduce to minimum the possibility of failures which can lead to accidents and people injures when a technological malfunction occurs.
